How the rate becomes the price of a piece
A jewel’s price starts with its gold weight, not its gross weight: stones, beads and pearls are deducted first. That gold weight, at the day’s rate for its purity, is the metal value. Making charges and the stones themselves are added on top, and each figure belongs on the receipt as a separate line. Why 21K and 22K lead in Lahore
Traditional work favours the colour and warmth of higher purity, so bridal and everyday gold in Lahore is mostly 21K or 22K; 18K carries more alloy and suits diamond settings. The rate for each purity above is the same spot price scaled by its gold content.
