Lahore, 1961

In February 1961, as Queen Elizabeth II made her state visit to Pakistan, Government House in Lahore placed order No. 274 with Ruby Jewellers.

The order called for a name plate lettered for H.M. Queen Elizabeth II, with silver corners, a clasp and hinges for a casket of gifts. Written by hand on the House's own paper, it remains one of the treasures of the Ruby archives.

A Word from the Family

Three Generations, One House

My father, Khadim Hussain Sheikh, founded Ruby Jewellers in Lahore in 1957. The families whose jewels he made in those first years return to us today for the jewels of their children's children. It is the greatest honour a House can be given.

That trust rests on what has never changed. Every jewel is still discussed before it is drawn, and drawn before it is made, in high-karat gold and by hand. It is still presented in private, with all the time it deserves.
