Questions Families Ask Before Visiting Ruby

Both stores keep the same hours: Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 10:00 to 19:00, and Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 and again from 14:00 to 19:00. The Galleria is at 26-Z, Commercial Zone, Phase 3, DHA; the Maclagan Road store is at 5 Jamaludin Afghani Road. A private appointment can be arranged in advance for a quieter setting, a bridal selection or a commission.
At the counter
A piece leaves with its stated purity and, for anything set with stones or beads, its gross weight and gold weight recorded separately on the receipt. The rate applied is the counter rate confirmed on the day; the website's gold-rate page shows the international rate in rupees as a reference before a visit.
After the sale
Pieces bought many years ago are as welcome for cleaning and inspection as anything bought recently. Whether an older piece can be remade, and any question of exchange, is discussed in person with the piece in hand, since the answer depends on the piece itself.
Questions, answered
What are your opening hours?+
Monday to Thursday and Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00; Friday 10:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 19:00, at both The Galleria and Maclagan Road. A private appointment is best arranged in advance.
Can I book a private appointment?+
Yes. Private appointments can be arranged at either store for clients who prefer a quieter setting than the shop floor, including for bespoke commissions and bridal selections. Use the appointments page or contact either store.
Are pieces made to order?+
Yes. Bespoke commissions are undertaken at either store for clients who wish to design a piece from the outset. Details, timelines and design choices are discussed directly with the house.
Can old jewellery be remade into something new?+
This is discussed in person, as it depends on the piece, the stones involved and what is wanted in its place. Bring the piece to either store or arrange a private appointment.
How do I check a piece's purity, and what is written on the receipt?+
Purity is stamped on the piece, usually in karat, and recorded on the receipt together with gross weight and gold weight. The guide to reading gold purity marks explains the common marks.
Is the gold rate confirmed before I visit?+
The website's gold-rate page shows the international rate converted to rupees as a reference. The rate applying on the day is confirmed at the counter, and either store will confirm it by telephone before a visit.
How do I reach each store, and is there parking?+
The Galleria: 26-Z, Commercial Zone, Phase 3, DHA, Lahore. Maclagan Road: 5 Jamaludin Afghani Road, Lahore. Both are marked on the contact page's maps; either store will help with directions by telephone.
What payment methods do you accept?+
Accepted payment methods are confirmed at the store when a purchase is agreed. Contact either store in advance if you have a particular method in mind.
Do you offer repairs and cleaning?+
Yes. Cleaning, inspection and repairs are part of the house's aftercare at either store, for pieces bought at Ruby many years ago as much as for recent ones.
Do you buy back or exchange jewellery?+
This is discussed in person at either store with the piece in hand. No general buy-back or exchange policy is stated publicly, as it depends on the pieces involved.
